Carly Steyer
director, producer
Carly is a writer/director who works across narrative film and theater. After receiving her BA in Film from Stanford, she worked as the development assistant to David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer on projects including HBO’s The White Lotus and Amazon’s Jury Duty, before transitioning to working as a freelance director and creative producer. Her most recent film, Voice Toy, is currently circuiting festivals, while her previous work premiered at New Filmmakers Los Angeles. Carly also consults and directs in the political space: in 2024, she directed a series of unconventional political ads aimed at Gen Z that was viewed over 100M times across swing states; in 2026, she led Gen Z digital strategy for a CA gubernatorial campaign. An SF native and the creator of Crushing, Carly is ecstatic to direct her fourth monologue show in her home city.
Megan Calfas
director, producer
Megan is a writer based in San Francisco. She is on staff with the Stanford Storytelling Project and has coached over 200 people on telling their true, personal stories live on stage. A playwright and journalist, Megan often works across mediums on pieces that explore girlhood and identity formation. Her most recent play, Sleepover, was produced at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and she is currently a resident playwright with the Playwrights Foundation. As a journalist, she has reported on the environment for the Los Angeles Times and investigated maternal mortality in Zanzibar. She also co-directed the sold-out runs of Crushing in New York in San Francisco in 2023 and 2025, respectively.
Natachi Onwuamaegbu

Natachi is a journalist, novelist, and founder. Her journalistic credits span The Washington Post, Al Jazeera, Cosmopolitan, The Boston Globe, The Seattle Times, 5280 Magazine, and more. Natachi is on the third draft of her novel, How to Fall in Sane, and was a featured writer in the 2023 debut of Crushing in New York City. She is also the founder of The Ndeza Collective, a Nairobi-based multimedia storytelling group focused on empowering female business owners in Kenya. Natachi graduated with honors from Stanford, and was a 2022-2023 Fulbright Scholar and a National Geographic Storytelling Fellow. She is now based in London, England.
